Guru is a spiritual tutor. It is a person who helps the monks to find the correct way in the life, and to solve their difficult spiritual problems. Guru can also be called an advisor, or a mentor, or a coach, or an instructor. There are a lot of names for guru, but the essence still is the same.

Writing guru is a person who supports you while you are writing your paper, and gives you useful tips and detailed instructor. Hence, writing guru is the same as your supervisor.

But not all the supervisors can be called writing gurus. Some of them do not deserve such a title, since they are no more than instructors.

What distinguishes a writing guru from an ordinary supervisor? It is writing guru’s wisdom. A guru is very wise person. Therefore he or she gets the right to teach the monks how to live correctly.

The same can be told about a writing guru. If the person knows a lot, and he or she is able to give instructions to the students, he or she becomes a tutor. If the person is also very wise, and can help a student to find a solution for any problem, he or she becomes a writing guru.

The difference is very important. If you have a writing guru, you are certain to cope with any task. If you have just a tutor, you may face some difficulties which you will not manage to get over.
